Our Elite 28AWG Cat6 Stranded LSZH cable is 3.7mm vs 5.4mm of standard Cat6 cable. This cable has a flame-resistant jacket that doesn't emit toxic fumes even if it burns. This cable is used to create patch cables between network interface cards (NICs) and wall plates or between concentrators, patch panels, hubs, and other rack mounted equipment. Stranded cable is more flexible than solid cable for bends around corners and behind computers from wall jacks. Save space in and around your patch panels and networking equipment with 28AWG cable. These cables meet ANSI/TIA/EIA-568-C.2-10 specifications. Terminate only with 28AWG RJ45s and not keystone jacks. This Cat 6 cable is perfect for your shorter runs and its bulk length makes it great for custom jobs.

A: LSZH stands for Low Smoke Zero Halogen. If exposed to fire, the jacket produces very low smoke and does not release halogen gases, making it a preferred choice for installations where occupant safety and equipment protection are important.
Q: Why are stranded conductors used instead of solid conductors?
A: Stranded conductors provide greater flexibility than solid conductors, making the cable easier to bend and route through racks, cabinets, and other tight installation spaces.
Q: Can this cable be installed inside walls?
A: This cable is intended for custom patch cable applications. For permanent in wall structured cabling, we recommend using solid conductor bulk Ethernet cable with the appropriate in wall jacket rating.

A: This cable should be terminated using RJ45 connectors specifically designed for 28 AWG stranded Ethernet cable. Keystone jacks are designed for larger solid conductor cable and are not recommended.
