This UL Listed bulk Cat5e cmr cable is riser rated for use between floors and in the walls of your home or business. Connect devices such as your computers, PoE, IP Cameras and many more applications. Cat 5e cmr cable provides sweep frequencies up to 350MHz and is capable of performing 1Gb data rate up to 328 feet (100 meters). This cable is boxed in a Reelex designed pull box for durability in many different types of conditions and makes pulling a breeze. Q: Is this cable waterproof?
A: This type of cable is Riser (CMR) rated which makes it suitable for in the walls and floor to floor. Mainly for indoor use. This cable can be used outside but will need to be placed inside conduit so the environment doesn't wear down the cable. We do have outdoor rated specific cable as well.
Q: If you're running this cable in the walls what connector do you recommend?
A: For installations running cable in the walls it's common practice to connect the cable to keystone jacks which can connect to wall plates or boxes. From the keystone in the wall you can run more cable or a patch cable from there to your device.
Q: Does this cable come with certification marked on the jacket?
A: Absolutely! This cable as do all our other cables have the safety certification marked on the jacket (UL and ETL). Safety first !
Q: When should you use riser cable?
A: Riser (CMR) rated cable is suitable for installations in walls, risers, and beneath flooring in non plenum spaces. It has a higher fire retardant than general use (CM) cable making it safe to put in the walls. Learn more here: What is riser cable?
Q: What's the difference between solid vs stranded Cat6?
A: Solid Cat6 cable is constructed to be ran over longer distances in your home, business or office. Solid cable gives you more strength for pulls and can be put inside walls. Stranded Cat6 cable is more flexible than solid and is typically used for creating patch cables.
